Resonance features an exceptional lineup of contemporary artists whose distinctive styles reflect their recent achievements in the art world.
The artists showcased in this exhibition are renowned for their innovative approaches and have garnered notable recognition through various institutional exhibitions, prestigious awards, and commercial collaborations.
From the pioneering “Rainbow Artist” Ay-O (b.1931, Japan) to the playful pop art of Philip Colbert (b.1979, UK), the lineup underscores Whitestone’s commitment to both established masters and emerging innovators. The show also features Soonik Kwon (b.1959, Korea), known for his signature technique, and the collaborative duo Julie & Jesse (b.1980, Hong Kong / b.1975, USA), whose most recent series is inspired by Chinese scholar’s rocks. Alongside them, Whitestone’s primary artists — Miwa Komatsu (b.1984, Japan), Jiang Miao (b.1981, China), Chen Yingjie (b.1991, China), and Kohei Kyomori (b.1985, Japan) — with their latest creations. Adding fresh energy to the mix, Bao Pei (b.1960, China) and Dai Ying (b.1983, China) make their Whitestone Hong Kong debut, expanding the gallery’s ecosystem of talent.
As Koei Shiraishi, the CEO of Whitestone Gallery remarked, “We have always believed in the power of art to transcend borders and create meaningful dialogues across cultures. I’m particularly excited to present this exhibition, which showcases both the remarkable growth of artists we have long supported, and the fresh perspectives of new talents who have recently joined our gallery.”
